There are a number of techniques often employed by pixel artists (which may or may not be used depending on the desired outcome). These include:
Dithering: using two colours to create the impression of more by varying the placement of individual pixels. This is most commonly done in a chequerboard pattern.
Anti-aliasing: smoothing curves, transitions and hard pixel lines by hand.
The children in this class learned about Native American symbols and created a number of different art projects inspired by them, including designing their own symbols.
Create a coat of arms shape for children to use. The children can divide each shield into four sections and place something in each section that reperesents them - hobbies, initials, pets, etc. Links with history.
